Travel Awards for BSHG Members
How to apply for Travel Awards
a) General travel awards
Applications should be sent to Mrs Ruth Cole, the Society's Administrator in Birmingham. Priority will be given to young investigators presenting results at major meetings. Applications should state the benefit to the applicant of receiving a travel award and clearly explain the part which the applicant played in the work. Another award cannot be granted to a successful applicant for three years. A small review committee reviews applications for these awards.
To qualify for a travel award applicants must have been a member of the
Society for at least one year.
There are four DEADLINES a year for applications:
 | 1st January
 | 1st April
 | 1st July
 | 1st October

It is highly unlikely that retrospective awards will be given.
The successful applicant will be expected to write a report for the BSHG bulletin and may be asked to present the work at one of the Society's meetings.
b) Awards to attend the European Society of Human Genetics Conferences The
British Society for Human Genetics will be offering five bursaries of 200 to
assist younger members to attend and present material at the ESHG annual
conferences. Applications should be sent to the BSHG administrative office
in Birmingham by 15th January. The format for applying for these bursaries
is the same as for the BSHG travel awards. |
