Job Description Summary: Genetix is committed to providing World Class customer support across all products and to both its internal and external customers. The Application Support Team (AST) is part of Customer Support and provides comprehensive pre- and post-sales support for our two core businesses: Discovery (Biopharmaceutical Technologies) and Clinical. The AST focuses on developing and delivering a full range of support skills and documentation designed to provide solutions for each and every type of problem our customers come across. It provides product demonstrations to support the commercial organisation as well as structured training programmes for customers, distributors and our own staff. As part of our expansion program, we are looking for an Application Specialist to take a key role primarily in the Clinical area. Job Purpose: To provide leading-edge specialist application support, demonstrations and training to our distributors and their customers at all levels with particular emphasis on Genetix’s clinical applications portfolio. Key Responsibilities: o Primary point of contact for specialist application support for Genetix’s Cytovision and GSL systems and software. o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Clinical systems and their biological applications, as well as a good working knowledge of Discovery systems and associated reagents and consumables. o Provide timely solutions to customer and distributor queries raised by e-mail or telephone ensuring they are handled and resolved in an efficient manner. o Provide pre- and post- sales specialist application support to the commercial organisation. o Make regular visits to our distributors and their customers (primarily in Europe and Asia). o Design, develop and deliver appropriate customer and distributor training programmes, as well as internal training programmes as required. o Provide regular feedback to the AST, Customer Support, and other departments to share ideas and ensure knowledge transfer at all levels. o Deliver lectures, seminars and demonstrations to international scientific conferences, exhibitions and user groups. o Generate and maintain up-to-date application notes, technical literature and PowerPoint presentations, and ensure these are accessible to Genetix staff, distributors and customers as appropriate. o Keep abreast of research literature, relevant advances in technology and competitor activity, and recommend new products / product enhancements to ensure that Genetix maintains its position as world leader in its markets. o Identify new business opportunities as a result of customer communications and pass these to the commercial organisation. Person Specification: Qualifications: o Qualification in an appropriate science discipline highly desirable such as cytogenetics, cell biology, molecular biology or biochemistry. Experience: o Experience with use of cytogenetics systems a distinct advantage. o Significant experience or aptitude in structured customer problem solving. Skills: o Ability to interact with people in a positive and professional manner o Commercially aware and able to demonstrate the benefits of our products to our customers o Analytical, methodical and organised approach o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Highly motivated individual and self-starter who is able to work independently o Highly computer literate o Flexible and able to prioritise competing issues Values: o Be The Best Delivering the competitive edge to our customers.
