| AfC band 7 (£29,091-£38,352); 1 year
Applications are invited for a 1 year fixed term position for a state registered Clinical Scientist (part-time or full-time)
The post holder will be responsible for analysis, interpretation and reporting of molecular genetic test results for a wide range of tests, with effective co-ordination and delivery of the work for a specified subset of diseases. They will assist with training, quality assurance and scientific/technical research, development and evaluation within the department. In addition, they will supervise a small group of staff and and collaborate in relevant aspects of staff development.
Essential qualifications/experience: HPC State Registered Clinical Scientist (or equivalent) or expected to attain State Registration within next 6 months. This would be an excellent opportunity for pre-registration scientist nearing completion of their training.
The laboratory is located within purpose built facilities (built 2007), and is rapidly expanding with 5 registered Scientists, 5 pre-registration scientists and 12 genetic technologists. We are currently increasing our range of diagnostic tests and embracing new technologies, working closely with other departments within the hospital and have links with prestigious research groups within the region.
