Guy’s & St. Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust St Georges Hospital Trainee Genetic Counsellor Two trainee genetic counsellor posts which will allow the post holders to complete higher professional training aimed towards registration as genetic counsellor Clinical Genetics Departments Full time, fixed term post for 27 months (or part-time equivalent) Trainee Grade: Agenda for Change Band 6 Job Reference C1077 These posts have been created as part of a training scheme for genetic counsellors, funded by the Department of Health, and to be monitored by the Association of Genetic Nurses and Counsellors. The training will be shared between the two departments, one post will be based at Guys Hospital the other at St Georges Hospital. The scheme aims to improve opportunities for professional training for new entrants to the field from varied backgrounds including appropriately qualified health professionals. Enquiries are invited from individuals who meet the AGNC entry-level qualifications for genetic counsellor registration (www. agnc.co.uk). The post holder will contribute, under supervision, to the provision of genetic counselling services and will be given training and educational opportunities appropriate to their personal learning needs including support towards completion of the portfolio for genetic counsellor registration.
