The Myotubular Trust, a new European research fund was established in 2006, with the aim of funding research specifically to find a treatment or cure for Myotubular Myopathy. Professor Victor Dubowitz has been appointed Founding Patron and Professor Francesco Muntoni as Advisor. The Trust have been extremely successful in their campaign and have already raised over £100,000 (150,000 Euros) and hope to start inviting applications for research grants sometime in 2007. They are keen to foster scientific meetings to share developments and promote new ideas in this field and would also like to make contact with clinicans and affected families, with a view to sharing all new developments.
